Mr. M. V. Kini's vision was to build a strong and vibrant organisation which would provide world class services to it's clients. He always believed and nurtured "client first policy" within the firm.
Since he started The Firm, India's economy has evolved from an era of state-run monopolies to one of the most important and exciting emerging markets globally. Today India is home to a thriving market and attracts vast amounts of foreign investments. Under the leadership of Mr. Kini, the firm has assisted some of the key players in the nation's transformation and evolved to support it's clients growing rapidly in India and internationally.
He was widely recognised as one of the foremost experts in banking law in the country. Mr. MV Kini was also recognised for his acumen in prosecuting white collar crimes. He led several high-profile prosecutions in fraud cases in banks, both nationalised and private, including against cover-ups of scams in the financial sector in general. He had represented various international business interests in India, helping them navigate the often-daunting legal and infrastructural set up in the country. As India grows and finds it's place in a rapidly shrinking world, M.V. Kini has established the largest network of offices of any Indian law firm, with over 27 branches spread across the country.
“Our goal is to provide complete legal cover for our clients’ varied needs, so that when they come in to our offices, they know all their legal issues, will be handled diligently and to the satisfaction of the client” said M.V. Kini.
Drawing on his background and interest in banking he authored two books on the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 and a separate practical guide for bankers dealing in consumer finance. Under his leadership the firm had the privilege of working with pan-India entities like the National Highways Authority of India and other large-scale PSUs given MV Kini’s presence across India. MVKini also represents more than 63 international and local banks and more than 100 public sector undertakings.
Our firm, with it's 250 lawyers, continues with it's 24/7 dedication to it's clients, in the spirit of MV Kini who found true joy in his work, assisting clients around the clock and ensuring a practical and legally sound solution, keeping the needs of corporate clients in mind, at all times.
MV Kini lived life to the fullest, and the law firm was his life and greatest passion. His work ethics along with witty spirit which ensure all clients would always leave with a smile and fellow lawyers would be entertained, has coloured the trademark work style of our firm.
