Mr. G. Gopalakrishna is Senior Advisor- Banking & Finance in the Mumbai office. He assists clients in conducting Forensic Audit for Fraud and Risk detection, NPA Management, Capacity Building, and Cyber Security.
Before joining MVKini, he has had a long and prestigious career with over 37 years of experience in banking and finance.
G. Gopalakrishna served as an Executive Director, RBI from 2007 to 2014 and was overseeing the Department of Banking Supervision, Department of Non-Banking Supervision, Financial Stability Unit, Department of Communication, Department of Information Technology, Secretary’s Department, Foreign Exchange Department, Department of Payment and Settlement System of the RBI.
He further headed the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC), after taking VRS from RBI in April 2014 he was appointed as Director, Centre for Advanced Research and Learning (CAFRAL -promoted by RBI) which post he held until April 2017.
Having gained extensive experience in NPA Management, Fraud and Risk Management, Capacity Building and Cyber Security, he was the Chairman and Member of several Working Groups set up by the RBI and Government of India. He chaired the Working Group on Information Security, Electronic Banking Technology, Risk Management and Cyber Frauds, the recommendations of which have been implemented. He also authored the RBI’s Central Credit Registry for reporting large value credits.
